The shooting occurred shortly after when deputies contacted the suspect, who was reported to be armed with a firearm.<\/p>\n<p>More details about what prompted deputies to shoot were not provided.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say the man was struck and taken to the hospital, where he died. His identity has not been released.<\/p>\n<p>No deputies were injured in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Aerial footage from NewsChopper4 showed more than a dozen law enforcement vehicles at the scene and what appeared to be a handgun on the sidewalk.<\/p>\n<p>As with all LASD deputy shootings that result in a person getting struck, multiple independent investigations will take place, including by the Homicide Bureau and the Internal Affairs Bureau.
