PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A Phoenix police officer was injured after another driver crashed into a city facility yard and slammed into the officer\u2019s parked squad car, police said.<\/p>\n
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. Friday near the Phoenix Police Department\u2019s Mountain View Precinct in the area of Maryland Avenue and 20th Street<\/a>, just south of Glendale Avenue. <\/p>\n Police said the driver of an SUV left the parking lot heading north, went through a fence, down a berm and into the parked patrol vehicle at the fuel pumps.<\/p>\n The officer was thrown from the vehicle but is expected to be OK, according to Phoenix police. The officer was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition. <\/p>\n No other property was damaged, and no other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n Police said the SUV driver is suspected of impairment, and the investigation is ongoing. <\/p>\n This was one of two law enforcement-involved crashes in Phoenix Friday night.
