The NYPD responded to Ocean Crest Boulevard near Hartman Lane in Far Rockaway after receiving a 911 call around noon of shots fired police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When they arrived, officers found the home engulfed in flames, possibly from an explosion, police sources said. <\/p>\n

The gunman, who was clad in a bulletproof vest and wielding a shotgun, then confronted cops who were outside the home, the sources said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The suspect was shot by multiple officers after refusing \u201cnumerous commands to drop the shotgun,\u201d a police source said.<\/p>\n
Cops found two bodies with bullet wounds inside the home \u2014 who were believed to be the man\u2019s mother-in-law and sister-in-law, sources told The Post.<\/p>\n
