These began on Tuesday, May 26 with the first developer beta. Public betas joined in from Monday, June 29. Recently, releases have been prompt, though, so check your iPhone after 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. U.K. on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Apple iOS 26.6: What\u2019s In The Release<\/p>\n<p>Much of the beta release program has been concerned with stability rather than new features. The latest Apple notes from the release candidate, which are sparse, read: \u201cThis update includes bug fixes, security updates and optimizes the Spotlight index to prepare for iOS 27.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In other words, there\u2019s quite a bit of prep going on here for what\u2019s coming next in iOS 27, something Apple can do because the next-gen software will be compatible with every iPhone that can run iOS 26.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the first iOS 27 developer beta arrived, testers found that Spotlight indexing could take quite a while\u2014up to a week or longer.
