{"id":96072,"date":"2025-07-27T06:43:28","date_gmt":"2025-07-27T06:43:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/96072\/"},"modified":"2025-07-27T06:43:28","modified_gmt":"2025-07-27T06:43:28","slug":"councilwoman-ivalis-meza-gonzalez-responds-to-dwi-arrest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/96072\/","title":{"rendered":"Councilwoman Ivalis Meza Gonzalez responds to DWI arrest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just weeks into her new job, San Antonio City Councilwoman Ivalis Meza Gonzalez was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated Thursday evening, according to Bexar County Central Magistrate arrest records.<\/p>\n<p>She was arrested at 11:25 p.m. Thursday and released on a $1,000 bond. <\/p>\n<p>Meza Gonzalez was<a href=\"https:\/\/sanantonioreport.org\/san-antonio-swears-in-younger-more-partisan-mayor-and-city-council\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> sworn in last month<\/a> to represent District 8 on the city\u2019s Northwest Side after she won a runoff election.<\/p>\n<p>She released a statement about the arrest on Friday afternoon. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast night I was pulled over under suspicion of DWI. As a public servant, I know we\u2019re held to a higher standard, and my actions failed to meet that. I deeply regret the disappointment this has caused my constituents, my colleagues, and my family. As this matter moves forward, I\u2019ll take full responsibility, and I will not stop working to make sure my constituents are well represented,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meza Gonzalez, 43,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sanantonioreport.org\/district-8-san-antonio-city-council-results-runoff-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">took a commanding lead<\/a>\u00a0in the first round of a six-way council race for the influential seat.
