REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>The shocking attacks come as Mamdani\u2019s rhetoric against Israel \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/19\/us-news\/critics-rip-mamdani-for-threatening-to-arrest-netanyahu-in-nyc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">particularly his bashing of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a> \u2014 is inciting antisemitism across the city, according to Blakeman, who is Jewish.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no question that Zohran Mamdani\u2019s antisemitic rhetoric has fueled all of the antisemitism and the violence we now see in the city,\u201d the GOP gubernatorial candidate said at the rally. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn Asian man and a Jewish man were stabbed in broad daylight just blocks apart in Manhattan while their attacker allegedly shouted \u2018Allahu Akbar,&#8217;\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s stop beating around the bush: this is what happens when the sitting Mayor of New York City actively demonizes Jewish residents and normalizes antisemitism while Kathy Hochul\u2019s disaster of a bail law ensures that hate-mongers walk free before the police report is even typed up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Blakeman, the Nassau County executive, also proposed tougher criminal sentences for those convicted of hate crimes, slamming Gov. When Mamdani <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/21\/us-news\/zohran-mamdani-backs-off-says-he-wont-arrest-benjamin-netanyahu-in-nyc-but-still-blasts-him-as-a-war-crimnal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">concluded he couldn\u2019t <\/a>arrest the prime minister, he <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/19\/us-news\/critics-rip-mamdani-for-threatening-to-arrest-netanyahu-in-nyc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">urged pro-Palestinian, anti-Israeli activists to protest Netanyahu<\/a> when he comes to the city that month.<\/p>\n<p>But on Sunday, the mayor found himself at the center of protests where attendees demanded his arrest and removal from office. <\/p>\n<p>Rally-goers chanted \u201cRemove Mamdani\u201d and \u201cArrest Mamdani\u201d and also, \u201cZohran, Zohran, you can hide, we charge you with hate and crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A poster promoting the rally showed an image of Mamdani with blood on his hands.<\/p>\n<p>Jewish leaders also spoke out against the mayor at the rally, blaming him for inflaming divides. <\/p>\n<p>Moshe Grunhaus, seen in a photo posted to Facebook on Oct 2, 2020, was allegedly stabbed by madman Raul Morales, who screamed \u201cAllahu Akbar\u201d on Thursday. We are a minority in this city, and we are the number one group that\u2019s being targeted, and he\u2019s [Madami] inflaming the situation,\u201d said Linda Lichtbraun, community leader of the Zionist group HERUT New York City.<\/p>\n<p>She noted that one of Mamdani\u2019s first actions as mayor was scrapping <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/02\/us-news\/nyc-mayor-zohran-mamdani-facing-backlash-for-revoking-eric-adams-executive-orders-supporting-israel\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the executive order <\/a>approved by former Mayor Eric Adams using the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of what constitutes antisemitism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only way for the city to get back on the right track is the removal of Mayor Mamdani. James Keivom for NY Post<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that Mamdani called an American-Israeli lobby group \u201cmonsters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWords from the mayor\u2019s office have consequences. This is the mayor of New York,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>To combat the hate, Blakeman proposed creating mandatory consecutive sentences for those convicted of multiple counts of hate crime charges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you go on a bias-motivated attack spree, your sentences will run back-to-back. No package deals, no concurrent sentences, no slaps on the wrist,\u201d he said. \u201cYou will rot in prison for every single life you attempt to destroy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also proposed a new felony charge for Aggravated Patterns of Bias. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cA rapid-fire spree targeting multiple individuals or religious institutions isn\u2019t simple assault \u2014 it is domestic terrorism.
