The ch\u00e2teau-style mansion at the center of it all clocks in at roughly 40,000 square feet, with eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, according to idesignarch.com. Inside, the amenities read like a hotel brochure with no budget ceiling: a home theater, full gym, library, wine cellar, spa, and a private elevator. Outside, the grounds include a resort-scale pool, horse stables, an organic farm, manicured gardens, a helipad, and a private airstrip long enough to land a jet<\/a>. It is, to put it plainly, not a starter home.<\/p>\n

How a $5.4 Million Land Deal<\/a> Became a $100 Million Fortress<\/p>\n

The estate has been in the making for over a decade. Perry’s land acquisition process started in 2013, when he purchased an initial 856-acre parcel in Douglas County for $5.4 million via a holding company, according to atlantafi.com. That plot had previously been earmarked for a residential development intended to house more than 1,300<\/a> people. Perry had other plans.
