An off-duty police officer was hurt Friday afternoon while working traffic control for a construction project.<\/p>\n
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a major crash along westbound Interstate 20 at Dowdy Ferry Road at about 2:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
Deputies arrived and found a police officer with the Hawk Cove Police had been hurt in the crash. The officer and another person were both hospitalized in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Further details about the crash and the injuries have not been confirmed.<\/p>\n
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 3:45 p.m., two lanes of I-20 were blocked while two were open.<\/p>\n
