A body wrapped in plastic, blood believed to be a crime scene and reports of a night terror incident all emerged within hours. Now, a married couple is behind bars, but officials haven’t confirmed whether the body is the missing man or whether he was even killed at the hand of another.

Deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home in the 700 block of Fort Leonard, on the Far Westside off Potranco Road between Highway 211 and Loop 1604, at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday night. A 30-year-old man had gone missing, and Sheriff Javier Salazar said his friends believed he left after suffering from a night terror.

But after taking statements, investigators perused the Far Westside Home with the permission of the homeowner. That’s when they reportedly uncovered a dead man wrapped tightly in plastic in a closet.

“The deputy began finding evidence of blood within the residence. He continued to search the residence with the homeowner present and the other female present as well,” Salazar said from a street near the crime scene. “At a certain point, he looked into a closet in one of the bedrooms and found a body.”

Salazar said the body was wrapped so tightly in the plastic that it was unlikely the man hurt himself before ending up that way. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office nor Salazar’s office have confirmed whether the body uncovered was the same 30-year-old man reported missing just hours earlier.

While the death has not been ruled a homicide as of Monday afternoon, two arrests have been made in connection to the body.
