In post-Emmy essays about the shows recognised in this year\u2019s nominations, one series that routinely showed up on \u2018underseen\u2019 and \u2018underrecognised\u2019 lists was AMC\u2019s \u201cInterview with the Vampire\u201d.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s second season in 2024 pulled in a staggering 100% from 76 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> and an 89\/100 on Metacritic<\/a>, easily some of the highest marks for any TV on air of late \u2013 and it did score several Emmy noms but mostly for its production elements.<\/p>\n

Now, AMC has confirmed that the third season will be going by the title \u201cThe Vampire Lestat\u201d. This falls in line with the switch to using the second book as the source material for the new run which again, much like the first two seasons, ain\u2019t afraid to change things up.<\/p>\n

The streamer has unveiled a new featurette about the making of the upcoming season, currently in production in Toronto, in which Sam Reid\u2019s Lestat de Lioncourt takes center stage \u2013 literally \u2013 as he becomes a rock star.<\/p>\n

Rollin Jones (\u201cPerry Mason,\u201d \u201cFriday Night Lights,\u201d \u201cThe Exorcist\u201d) returns as showrunner and was on hand in San Diego where four more cast members were revealed.<\/p>\n

Acting veteran Christopher Heyerdahl (\u201cMonarch: Legacy of Monsters,\u201d \u201cHell on Wheels\u201d) will play Marius de Romanus, Lestat\u2019s mentor and the maker of Armand and Pandora. Vincent P\u00e9rez previously played the role in the \u201cQueen of the Damned\u201d film.<\/p>\n

Reid\u2019s fellow Aussie, actor and playwright Damien Atkins (\u201cTake this Waltz,\u201d \u201cSlings and Arrows\u201d), will take on the part of Magnus, Lestat\u2019s late maker who immolated himself shortly after creating Lestat.<\/p>\n

Also onboard is Jeanine Serralles (\u201cApples Never Fall\u201d) as Lestat\u2019s lawyer Christine Clair, Jennifer Ehle (\u201cLioness,\u201d \u201cZero Dark Thirty\u201d) as Gabriella, and Ella Ballentine (\u201cAnne of Green Gables,\u201d \u201cStandoff\u201d) as Baby Jenks.<\/p>\n

In addition, key cast members from prior seasons return including Jacob Anderson as Louis, Eric Bogosian as Daniel, Assad Zaman as Armand, and even Delainey Hayles as Claudia despite the character\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

The crew unveiled footage from the new season, including a conversation between Louis and Daniel concerning his book, a boardroom confrontation between Louis and Lestat, and a lot of blood. That clip sadly hasn\u2019t gone online as yet short of bootlegs on social media.<\/p>\n

Though the book heavily shifts to Lestat with Louis effectively sidelined, Anderson told the Comic-Con crowd he\u2019s still very much a part of the action with Jones adding: \u201cNo one should worry at all. There\u2019s way more Louis in our show than there is in the book.\u201d<\/p>\n

A trailer was also unveiled for the \u201cTalamasca\u201d series with Bogosian\u2019s Daniel Molloy set to make a guest appearance in that show. Check that out below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
