\n\tMichael B. Jordan<\/a> is finally giving his thoughts on David Jonsson being cast <\/a>as the new Black Panther<\/a> in Ryan Coogler<\/a>\u2018s upcoming third installment in the superhero franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt Comic-Con 2026 over the weekend, Marvel<\/a> revealed that Jonsson will star as an adult version of the son of T\u2019Challa, portrayed by the late\u00a0Chadwick Boseman\u00a0in the 2018 original. Black Panther 3<\/a> will also film on 70mm and hit theaters Dec. 15, 2028.<\/p>\n

\n\tA few days after the announcement, Entertainment Tonight<\/a> caught Jordan at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere in Los Angeles Monday night to ask him about his thoughts on the casting.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOh, I love it. It\u2019s amazing! I can\u2019t wait, can\u2019t wait!\u201d the Oscar winner said in an excited tone.<\/p>\n

\n\tJordan \u2014 a longtime Coogler collaborator who won his first Oscar earlier this year for his role in the filmmaker\u2019s Sinners \u2014 played villain Erik Killmonger in the 2018 film and the 2022 sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It hasn\u2019t been officially announced whether Jordan will reprise his role in the third film.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Boseman died<\/a> in 2020 at age 43 following a battle with colon cancer, Jordan took to social media to pay tribute to his former co-star <\/a>and friend. \u201cOne of the last times we spoke, you said we were forever linked, and now the truth of that means more to me than ever,\u201d he wrote, adding, \u201cI wish we had more time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this year, when Jorden was honored at the\u00a0Santa Barbara International Film Festival with the\u00a0Outstanding Performer of the Year Award, he also took a moment to remember Boseman<\/a>, saying that the late actor was with him throughout filming Sinners.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI loved that guy so much,\u201d he added, \u201cand it saddens me every time I think about it that I won\u2019t get a chance to work with him again.\u201d<\/p>\n
