Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is \u201cnot yet medically cleared to leave the rehab facility\u201d where his office has said he\u2019s recovering from a fall and bout of pneumonia, a new statement released a little more than six weeks after his hospitalization said, prompting Kentucky\u2019s Democratic governor to reportedly demand more details about the Senator\u2019s condition including his ability to speak.<\/p>\n

McConnell announced in the statement he won\u2019t attend a Kentucky political event, known as the Fancy Farm Picnic, on Saturday, making it unlikely he\u2019ll be at the funeral services for his longtime ally, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
His attending physician also said in a statement McConnell is undergoing a \u201cstrenuous course of physical therapy and rehabilitation . . . designed to rebuild strength and reduce the risk of future falls,\u201d adding \u201chis bout with childhood polio continues to be a significant factor in his mobility.\u201d<\/p>\n
