Xander Schauffele was one of the most talented young players to burst onto the PGA Tour scene nearly a decade ago now.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And Jackson Koivun is the latest superstar in the making to emerge from the US collegiate conveyor belt of super-talented young players.<\/p>\n

Schauffele has gone on to forge an exceptional career for himself in the game, with 10 PGA Tour titles to his name, including two major championships.<\/p>\n

And Jackson Koivun<\/a> has already won a PGA Tour<\/a> event, after he triumphed at the 3M Open last week in what was only his third start as a professional.<\/p>\n

Xander Schauffele<\/a> knows that Koivun\u2019s arrival on the scene has made his task of winning even harder.<\/p>\n

Koivun is already being tipped to make the US Presidents Cup team<\/a> and in truth, it would be a surprise if he wasn\u2019t selected by Brandt Snedeker in September.<\/p>\n

What Xander Schauffele wants to do after Jackson Koivun\u2019s 3M Open win<\/p>\n

Schauffele addressed the media in Detroit on Tuesday ahead of the Rocket Classic this week.<\/p>\n

And he responded when asked what he made of Jackson Koivun\u2019s win on Sunday at TPC Twin Cities.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, was able to meet Jackson in Florida. He was out playing with JT and a few guys at a course and I kind of ran into him,\u201c Schauffele said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was really polite. Met him once, watched him play on TV. He\u2019s obviously a world-beater. <\/p>\n

\u201cThese kids coming out are not afraid at all. I think that\u2019s sort of what his win showed is he\u2019s won in college, all these young amateurs, now young pros, they look like mini Tour pros to me coming out.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think of when I was in college and what that looked like and it did not look like that. It\u2019s super-impressive. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really good for the game, it\u2019s really good for our tour to have as many Jackson-like players as we can get. It makes me want to work even harder, so congrats to him.\u201c<\/p>\n

What Scottie Scheffler said about Jackson Koivun after the 3M Open<\/p>\n

World number one Scottie Scheffler spoke very highly indeed of Koivun<\/a> after the 21-year-old pipped him to the 3M Open title.<\/p>\n

He was asked what he made of the way that Koivun made winning his first ever PGA Tour title look so simple.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like we\u2019re seeing a lot of really, really good young talent in the game today,\u201c Scheffler said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you see the guys come out of college, they\u2019re really, really prepared, even more prepared than we were coming out years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think anytime you\u2019re trying to win for the first time, it\u2019s awfully difficult, especially for a young guy coming out of college.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that shows not only how talented of a player he is, but I think the mental strength he has as well.\u201c<\/p>\n
