Netanyahu and Hannity also discussed the prime minister\u2019s meeting with US President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was one of the best meetings that we\u2019ve had,\u201d Netanyahu said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have a common commitment. We don\u2019t want to see this fanatic regime in Tehran have nuclear weapons to threaten every American, and to threaten the peace of the world, and to threaten the existence of Israel,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Netanyahu skeptical of Iran deal prospects<\/strong><\/p>\n Hannity then asked about the Iran deal and whether Netanyahu believes that there are competing factions within Iran\u2019s leadership, including whether there are \u201cmoderates that would like a deal.\u201d<\/p>\n The prime minister responded, \u201cWell, I\u2019m skeptical about the deal. And I say it openly. But the only way it would be achieved is if Iran understood these various factions there.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think they\u2019re not ideological factions as much as they differ on the assessment of how tough we are. That\u2019s it. You know, those who think that the president is very tough, and they should, you know, they say, let\u2019s not confront this guy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n The two also discussed why Iran has not directly targeted Israel over recent weeks despite US Central Command (CENTCOM) hitting Iranian targets and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launching missiles and drones toward US and US-aligned facilities across the Gulf region.<\/p>\n Israel would respond with \u2018terrific force\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThey should know that if we are attacked, we\u2019ll respond with terrific force,\u201d Netanyahu said, adding that he believes that is why Iran has been hesitant to launch attacks directly towards Israel.<\/p>\n The regime is \u201cattacking everybody in sight. It\u2019s attacking Saudi Arabia. It\u2019s attacking Kuwait. It\u2019s attacking Bahrain. It\u2019s attacking the UAE and others,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cIt murdered and maimed tens of thousands of its own citizens. This is what this regime in Iran does today when it doesn\u2019t have nuclear weapons.
