Actress Patricia Heaton, who was in New York City during the 9\/11 terrorist attacks, joined families of the victims in calling for Mayor Zohran Mamdani to be banned from the 25th anniversary at Ground Zero.<\/p>\n

Getty Images for America Reads The Bible<\/p>\n Mamdani appeared to casually brush off the concerns when questioned if he would attend the 25th anniversary events.\u00a0 William Farrington for The NY Post<\/p>\n Heaton\u2019s post included a screenshot of a comment left on the petition by a family member who lost their brother in the terror attacks.<\/p>\n \u201cI am incensed that a terrorist excuser is now Mayor, and outspoken sympathizer for terrorist perpetrators,\u201d the comment said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is disqualified from attending the 9\/11 remembrance ceremony and ought to be barred.\u201d<\/p>\n While the Hollywood actress was born in Ohio and has called Los Angeles and Nashville home, she had a stint living in New York City in the 1980s \u2014 and happened to be in the Big Apple on Sept. 11, 2001. \u00a0<\/p>\n She also played a Long Island native, \u201cDebra Barone,\u201d in her role on \u201cEverybody Love Raymond\u201d \u2014 and has long championed traditional values. <\/p>\n Heaton took to X on Monday calling upon New Yorkers to sign the petition. X \/ @PatriciaHeaton<\/p>\n \u201cI happened to be in New York City on September 11, 2001 with the cast of \u2018Everybody Loves Raymond.\u2019 It was a terrifying experience,\u201d Heaton wrote on X on Sept. 11, 2024<\/a>, alongside a video commemorating the annual remembrance.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s hard to believe now that Israel is experiencing the same horrors,\u201d she said referencing the heinous Hamas attacks on Oct. 7, 2023, that slaughtered roughly 1,200 Israelis. <\/p>\n \u201cIt needs to end.\u201d<\/p>\n A petition organized by families of 9\/11 victims has amassed nearly 45,000 signatures in support of banning Mayor Mamdani from the ceremonies. <\/p>\n In the two-minute video, Heaton likened the Palestinian terror group to members of al-Qaeda who murdered 2,753 when they hijacked airplanes and steered them into the World Trade Center.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s 9\/11 again and here we are. The same terrorists are back in full force, this time going after Israel, but really they\u2019re going after all of us,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Heaton added that \u201canyone who calls for Israel to lay down its arms, you are supporting the same people who took down the Twin Towers.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s 9\/11 again and here we are.
