The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to an extension with a key piece of the 2025-26 roster. No, not that one<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s tight end Jake Ferguson that Dallas is locking in to a new deal, two people with knowledge of the agreement told The Dallas Morning News. Ferguson and the Cowboys have agreed to a four-year extension worth as much as $52 million with $30 million guaranteed, a person familiar with the deal said. Ferguson also gets a signing bonus worth $12 million.<\/p>\n

Ferguson is preparing to begin his fourth season with the Cowboys. The 26-year-old tight end was a fourth-round draft pick of the team in 2022.<\/p>\n

Ferguson is coming off a bit of a down season last year after being selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2023-24. Last season, Ferguson caught 59 passes for 494 yards compared to 71 catches and 761 yards two seasons ago. The former Wisconsin Badger missed three games in 2024 while recovering from a concussion.<\/a><\/p>\n

Ferguson returns for 2024 as the projected starter under a new deal, however, ahead of Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford on the Cowboys\u2019 tight end depth chart.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not Micah Parsons locking in a new megadeal<\/a>, but Dallas has secured an impact piece of the offense.<\/p>\n
