HBO is taking us back to where IT all began with \u201cWelcome to Derry<\/strong>,\u201d a nine-episode series that will serve as a prequel to Andy Muschietti<\/strong>\u2019s\u00a0IT films. Watch the new teaser trailer now.<\/p>\n

Based on Mike Hanlon\u2019s interludes from\u00a0Stephen King<\/strong>\u2019s novel, which document catastrophic events from the Maine town\u2019s past, \u201cIT: Welcome to Derry\u201d kicks off in 1962 in the time leading up to the events of IT: Chapter One. The series premieres on HBO Max in October 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Andy Muschietti, who directs multiple episodes of the series, has teased that second and third seasons, if ordered by HBO, would take place in 1935 and 1908, respectively.<\/p>\n

Taylour Paige\u00a0<\/strong>(Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F),\u00a0Jovan Adepo\u00a0<\/strong>(\u201cThe Stand\u201d),\u00a0Chris Chalk\u00a0<\/strong>(\u201cGotham\u201d),\u00a0James Remar<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cDexter\u201d),\u00a0Madeleine Stowe<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cRevenge\u201d), and\u00a0Stephen Rider<\/strong> (\u201cDaredevil\u201d) star in the series, with Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/strong>\u00a0returning as Pennywise the Clown.<\/p>\n

Alixandra Fuchs<\/strong>\u00a0(Boogeyman Pop),\u00a0Kimberly Guerrero<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cReservation Dogs\u201d),\u00a0Dorian Grey<\/strong>\u00a0(Star Trek: Discovery),\u00a0Thomas Mitchell<\/strong>\u00a0(Spiral: From the Book of Saw),\u00a0BJ Harrison<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cRise of the Planet of the Apes\u201d),\u00a0Peter Outerbridge<\/strong>\u00a0(Saw VI),\u00a0Shane Marriott<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cFargo\u201d),\u00a0Chad Rook<\/strong>\u00a0(Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City),\u00a0Joshua Odjick<\/strong>\u00a0(The Long Walk),\u00a0Rudy Mancuso<\/strong>\u00a0(The Flash), and\u00a0Morningstar Angeline\u00a0<\/strong>(\u201cEcho\u201d) round out the cast.<\/p>\n

Jason Fuchs<\/strong>\u00a0(Ice Age: Continental Drift), who wrote the teleplay for the first episode of \u201cIT: Welcome to Derry,\u201d and Brad Caleb Kane<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cCrystal Lake\u201d) serve as co-showrunners.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
