It\u2019s called retirement road,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cI heard it\u2019s fun, and I\u2019m going to be retiring at the end of this year, end of December.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rick further revealed that he and his wife will spend \u201csome time together\u201d and travel during his newfound free time. <\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s also a wedding coming up with my son that\u2019s coming up in 2027,\u201d he added, referring to his son Nick. They are also parents to Josh.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s also an opportunity to reconnect with friends. I also want to stay in touch with the team that I work with now. I\u2019m really into fitness and longevity for obvious reasons. I want to keep that going, so it\u2019s all about exploring and learning and then sharing. I kind of want to document how this goes. I want to find out what retirement is all about.\u201d <\/p>\n

However, despite his looming retirement, Rick will launch a new show, \u201cRick Hits the Road,\u201d during his last five months with the network.<\/p>\n
He explained, \u201cWe\u2019re going to do some broadcasts from different cities. The first stop is New Orleans. That\u2019s coming up next week. It\u2019s going to be with\u00a0Jimmy Stovall\u00a0and\u00a0Ali Carr\u00a0and the crew, and we\u2019re going to meet the QVC customer. More stops to come.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for what Rick hopes his final retirement show will be, he told the outlet that there will be \u201cmoments\u201d to remember.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019ll be clips. There\u2019ll be people stopping by,\u201d he predicted. \u201cI do think that there\u2019s going to be a live audience show or two. I want that to happen. I want it to be in person. I want it to be celebratory. I am excited about this next chapter. I want it to be more fun than sad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before becoming a staple on the shopping channel, Rick studied theater and played characters like McDuff in \u201cMacbeth\u201d and Hal Carter in \u201cPicnic,\u201d per IMDb. <\/p>\n
He\u2019s also made several appearances on TV shows like \u201cSt. Elsewhere,\u201d \u201cDream On,\u201d \u201cThe Young and the Restless\u201d and \u201cLikely Suspects.\u201d<\/p>\n
