Keegan Bradley played alongside Jackson Koivun during the opening round of the Rocket Classic on Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And Bradley will get another first-hand view of Koivun\u2019s brilliance when they play together in Detroit on Friday.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old won on the PGA Tour in what was only his third start as a professional last week at the 3M Open.<\/p>\n

And Jackson Koivun<\/a> got off to a solid start at the Rocket Classic<\/a> on Thursday, posting a one-under par 69 \u2013 four strokes worse than Keegan Bradley<\/a>\u2018s impressive 65.<\/p>\n

Koivun has already been tipped to make the US Presidents Cup team<\/a> in September after his fine start to professional life on the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

And vice-captain Bradley got a close-up view of Koivun\u2019s incredible ability on Thursday at the Detroit Golf Club.<\/p>\n

Bradley spoke to reporters after his brilliant opening-round 65 at the Rocket Classic on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Ryder Cup captain was in fine spirits due to his exceptional golf and it seems as though he was really excited about what he saw from Koivun as well.<\/p>\n

He was asked by one journalist to share his thoughts on Koivun after watching him play throughout the round.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, he\u2019s just an incredible player,\u201c Bradley admitted.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally, really great guy. How old is he, 20, 21, something in there? Yeah, he seems more mature and older, which makes him unique.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of the younger players that I have seen come out that are really good play a much different game.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s not a 195 ball speed guy, he\u2019s just a really solid player. I was really impressed.\u201c<\/p>\n

Bradley confirms whether he was scouting Koivun for Presidents Cup role<\/p>\n

The eight-time PGA Tour winner responded when asked by one reporter whether he was watching Koivun close up on Thursday in some kind of scouting mission ahead of the Presidents Cup.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just trying to focus sort of on what I\u2019m doing mostly,\u201c Bradley admitted.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it certainly was nice to see him up close. He seems like he\u2019s got a lot of, just confidence and maturity. <\/p>\n

\u201cLike I mean, I couldn\u2019t imagine doing what he\u2019s doing at that age. He certainly has the makeup.\u201c<\/p>\n

Those comments from Keegan Bradley bode extremely well for Jackson Koivun regarding his hopes of making the US Presidents Cup team in September.<\/p>\n

Bradley saying \u2018he certainly has the makeup\u2019 is a huge boost for Koivun\u2019s Presidents Cup chances.<\/p>\n

Right now, though, the 21-year-old just needs to focus on his game and the rest will all fall into place.<\/p>\n
