A Gainesville man is heading to federal prison for nearly 15 years after robbing two Kay Jewelers stores and a Value Pawn shop across North Central Florida.<\/p>\n
Michael Woulard, 50, was sentenced to 14 years and 10 months in federal prison for robbery and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime. Woulard pleaded guilty March 16, 2026.<\/p>\n
Three robberies in four months<\/p>\n
Court documents show Woulard carried out three armed robberies between October 2023 and February 2024.<\/p>\n
On Oct. 10, 2023, Woulard robbed a Value Pawn shop in Jacksonville, stealing goods valued at approximately $45,945.<\/p>\n
On Nov. 25, 2023, Woulard robbed a Kay Jewelers store in Jacksonville, brandishing a semi-automatic pistol at employees and stealing jewelry valued at approximately $352,623.66.<\/p>\n
On Feb. 20, 2024, Woulard robbed a Kay Jewelers store in Ocala, again brandishing a semi-automatic pistol at employees and stealing jewelry valued at approximately $364,752.56.<\/p>\n
Arrested with stolen goods, admitted to robberies<\/p>\n
Woulard was arrested the day after the Ocala robbery \u2014 Feb. 21, 2024 \u2014 while in possession of numerous stolen items from that third heist.<\/p>\n
During a voluntary interview with investigators from the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office and the Ocala Police Department, Woulard admitted to committing the jewelry store robberies.<\/p>\n
Restitution ordered<\/p>\n
In addition to his prison sentence, Woulard was ordered to pay $442,582.59 in restitution to the victims.<\/p>\n
