{"id":9724,"date":"2025-06-24T03:41:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-24T03:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/9724\/"},"modified":"2025-06-24T03:41:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T03:41:10","slug":"ballarat-woman-cheryl-lucas-committed-to-stand-trial-accused-of-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/9724\/","title":{"rendered":"Ballarat woman Cheryl Lucas committed to stand trial accused of murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">A Ballarat woman has been committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court after being charged with murder last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Cheryl Lucas, 38, appeared via video link in the Ballarat Magistrates Court today from the Dame Phyllis Frost Correctional Centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Ms Lucas has been in custody since late December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">It is alleged Ms Lucas murdered a 47-year-old man just days after Christmas at an address in the Ballarat suburb of Mount Helen. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">It is alleged Ms Lucas stabbed the man at the property just before 8am on December 28.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Emergency services attempted to perform CPR on the man but he died at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A person in overalls bending over to retrieve something from the back of a van, with another police vehicle to the right.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/d66e8a7a7ea8b72671b4ff1bd538154f\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Police and forensic crews at a Mount Helen address December 2024.
