Front page flashback:<\/strong> Aug. 2, 2018<\/p>\n 2018:<\/strong> Illinois 51st District state Rep. Nick Sauer resigned<\/a> after being accused by an ex-girlfriend of sending nude photos of her to other men on Instagram. Sauer, of Lake Barrington, was charged<\/a> in 2019 with 12 felonies for allegedly posting private sexual photos of two people online without their permission.<\/p>\n The woman accused Sauer of posting nude photos of her on an Instagram account he opened under a false name. The accusations reportedly were detailed in complaints filed with the Chicago Police Department and the state legislative inspector general. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor, was ordered to serve 90 days in jail and was placed on 24 months\u2019 probation.<\/p>\n The Dishonor Roll: General Assembly<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Weather records <\/strong>(from the National Weather Service, Chicago<\/a>)<\/p>\n 1922:<\/strong>\u00a0More than 20,000 employees<\/a> walked off the job starting at 4 a.m. and joined another 400,000 railroad workers as part of the\u00a0Great Railroad Strike<\/a>, which\u00a0suspended service<\/a> on all Chicago streetcar lines and elevated trains.<\/p>\n 1998:<\/strong> Chicago Bears linebacker Mike Singletary was inducted<\/a> into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Singletary joined fellow Bears players Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers and Walter Payton to be voted into the Hall of Fame during his first year of eligibility.<\/p>\n Singletary was the NFL\u2019s most valuable defensive player in 1985 and 1988. He missed only two games in 12 years, started more games (172) than any Bear except Walter Payton and averaged more than eight tackles a game. Singletary was also selected to 10 straight Pro Bowls<\/a>.<\/p>\n 2012:<\/strong> Ninety-eight of 102 Illinois counties were declared disaster areas<\/a> due to drought. Only Cook, DuPage, Kane and Will counties were not part of the designation.<\/p>\n The winter of 2011-12 was warm and produced little snowfall, and rainfall was sparse in the spring of 2012. According to the Illinois State Water Survey, the statewide average precipitation for 2012 was 30.4 inches<\/a> \u2014 9.6 inches below the 1981-2010 average.
