A weak cold front moving through North Texas will knock temperatures<\/a> into the upper 90s Saturday after nearly two weeks of heat advisories.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service<\/a> forecasts mostly sunny skies Saturday with some clouds and winds up to 20 mph. Just south of Dallas-Fort Worth, some areas of Central Texas may see scattered showers and storms Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The weather service did not issue an extreme heat warning<\/a> for North Texas\u00a0Friday<\/a> after temperatures stayed within heat advisory criteria.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Saturday\u2019s high is 99 degrees, with a low of 83. Unlike the last few days, the heat index, or \u201cfeels like\u201d temperature, is expected to be 99 degrees, keeping D-FW slightly cooler than previous days. Additionally, Sunday is expected to be similar, with a high of 98 degrees and a low of 76.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The slightly cooler weather won\u2019t last long, as triple-digit temperatures are expected to return Monday with a high of 101 degrees.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The weather service encourages residents heading to\u00a0area lakes<\/a> or spending time outdoors this weekend to exercise caution and be aware of the weather. While most of North Texas is expected to stay dry, stronger wind gusts and pop-up storms could create hazardous conditions for boaters heading to area lakes this weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Even with the slight cooldown, health experts still encourage<\/a> limiting outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, staying hydrated and wearing lightweight clothing and sunscreen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Families looking to cool off this weekend can also visit one of North Texas\u2019 lakes, pools or public cooling centers<\/a> across Dallas and Fort Worth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Simple tips<\/a> like staying in the shade while outdoors or taking frequent breaks are crucial to staying safe in the Dallas heat.\u00a0<\/p>\n

MONDAY<\/strong>: Mostly sunny and seasonably hot. Low: 77. High: 98. Wind: SE 5-10 mph.<\/p>\n

TUESDAY<\/strong>: Sunny and seasonably hot. Low: 79. High: 100. Wind: S 10-15 mph.<\/p>\n
