(WAVE) &#8211; Louisville Visual Art (LVA) is opening registration for its historic Children\u2019s Fine Art Classes (CFAC) starting Monday, August 3.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Since 1925, the program has given motivated and gifted children the opportunity to participate in intensive visual art experiences across Louisville and Southern Indiana. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The classes are tuition-free so that financial barriers won\u2019t prevent students from participating. <\/p>\n<p>Program details &amp; curriculum<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Students who are accepted into the 10-week program will meet once a week during the fall and spring semesters. They will have focused studio instruction led by art teachers and professional artists. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">They will get instruction in :<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Drawing &amp; Painting<\/li>\n<li>Mixed Media<\/li>\n<li>Art History, Critique, and Aesthetics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">At the end of each year, the students\u2019 works are professionally displayed in the CFAC and Academy of LVA Annual Art Exhibitions.<\/p>\n<p>How to enroll<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Because the curriculum in intensive, students must be recommended to participate.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Eligibility: Recommended students must be at least 9 years old.<\/li>\n<li>Recommendations: Can be submitted year-round by art teachers, classroom teachers, principals, or community leaders who recognize the student\u2019s visual art talent. <\/li>\n<li>Contact: To initiate a recommendation or learn more, parents and educators can contact LVA Education Director Annette Cable at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wave3.com\/2026\/08\/02\/louisville-visual-art-opening-registration-free-childrens-fine-art-classes-fall\/mailto:annette@louisvillevisualart.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">annette@louisvillevisualart.org<\/a> or call 502-584-8166.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">(Note: High school students interested in advanced studies can apply for the tuition-based Academy of LVA, which offers need-based scholarships.)<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WAVE.
