(BLOOMFIELD, NJ) — Amanda Selwyn Dance Studio<\/strong><\/a> announces their second annual Golf Outing, scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2025 at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield. Enjoy a day of golf, refreshments, and good company in support of the inspiring dance education Notes in Motion<\/a><\/strong> is bringing to young people throughout NYC public schools. Evening presentation will include student performances from school partners from the Bronx and Queens with special performances from Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre on the course throughout the day.<\/p>\n Set to be honored at the event is\u00a0Carolina Ramos, the Regional General Manager at Rockhill Management. The event committee includes\u00a0Andrea Barragan,\u00a0Kevin DePicciotto,\u00a0Sandy Forbes, and\u00a0Hugo Ramirez.<\/p>\n The Board of Directors is made up of\u00a0Sandy Forbes, chair;\u00a0Marie Etienne, secretary;\u00a0Regina Morgan Belle,\u00a0Kim Guzzo, Patricia Hallstein, Christian Robinson,\u00a0Amanda Selwyn, and\u00a0Shircara Stewart.<\/p>\n Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre\/Notes in Motion presents dynamic dance theatre productions that activate emotional expression. Through an interplay of athletic and articulate motion, they present theatrical and immediate works that engage audiences from start to finish and beckon a response of thought, feeling, and soul. Their education program, Notes in Motion, brings inclusive dance programs to the NYC Public Schools in styles including modern, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, Latin, African, and more. Programs are united by our singular approach to dance education, The\u00a0Movement Exchange Method,\u00a0which combines technical instruction with creative skill-building and collaborative learning.<\/p>\n They\u00a0aim to provide access to the art form of dance to inspire the next generation of dance appreciators. In the last three years, our dance education programs have grown from 87 programs and 45 school partners per year to 163 programs and 75 school partners. This year, Notes in Motion brought dance to 21,000 students and delivered 4,400 program sessions throughout NYC. Amanda recently taught workshops at Peridance, a Residency at Hofstra University, New Women, NY, the NY Gender Conference, and at Temple University. Her work has been presented twice on Jacob\u2019s Pillow Inside\/Out, at Tribeca PAC, American Dance Guild Festival, DUMBO Dance Festival, APAP, COOL NY, Wassaic Dance, WestFest, Movement Research, Dixon Place, NYU\u2019s\u00a0Women and Theater\u00a0conference, Dance Teacher Summit, and Pushing Progress.<\/p>\n Amanda led workshops at 3 Face to Face conferences. Grants: NYSCA, Harkness Foundation, Friars, Dizzy Feet, Bronx Arts Council, DCA, NYC Council, Manhattan Borough President, Met Life, City National Bank, Credit Suisse, and Bossak\/Heilbron. Amanda participated in the Choreographer’s Lab program at Jacob’s Pillow. She has a 500-hour yoga teacher’s certification teaches yoga privately and at Crunch Gym. She has a Masters from NYU Tisch and a B.S. from Northwestern University in theatre, women’s studies, and dance.<\/p>\n Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre\/Notes in Motion programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
