ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. \u2014 The Chicago White Sox added to their bullpen overnight by acquiring right-hander Huascar Brazob\u00e1n from the New York Mets for minor-league pitchers Zach Franklin and Gabe Davis, a source confirmed to the Tribune.<\/p>\n

Brazob\u00e1n is 5-2 with a 2.56 ERA in 46 games (six starts) this season. He has 49 strikeouts and 23 walks in 52 2\/3 innings.<\/p>\n

Brazob\u00e1n, 36, has a 3.49 ERA and 262 strikeouts in 258 innings during 214 career games (nine starts) over five major-league seasons with the Miami Marlins (2022-24) and Mets (24-26).<\/p>\n

Yancen Pujols<\/a> and Ken Rosenthal<\/a> initially reported the trade.<\/p>\n

Franklin has a 4.37 ERA in 33 appearances (one start) this season for Triple-A Charlotte. Davis had a combined 5.81 ERA in 18 starts at High A Winston-Salem (eight starts) and Double-A Birmingham (10 starts) in 2026.<\/p>\n

The American League Central-leading Sox have been active as the trade deadline approaches. The deal for Brazob\u00e1n comes after the Sox acquired starter Luis Castillo<\/a> from the Seattle Mariners on Saturday. Castillo is slated to make his Sox debut on Thursday in Boston.<\/p>\n
