Spider-Man: Brand New Day just broke <\/a>a box office record set by Avengers: Endgame after Spidey\u2019s weekend haul. More than the end to the Avengers\u2019 record, the new Spider-Man movie serves as the beginning of an important new chapter in the MCU.<\/p>\n That new chapter starts with the rolling introduction of the X-Men after Spider-Man: Brand New Day confirmed the rumors that Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink was, in fact, playing a young, confused, dangerous version of Jean Grey in the latest Spider-Man film. Jane Grey\u2019s powers explode over the course of the movie. A the end, she appears to be taking a train upstate, and she\u2019s made her first friend, fellow mutant (of sorts), Peter Parker.<\/p>\n Marvel is now reportedly trying to cast many of the new X-Men quickly ahead of the D23 event later this month. Reportedly, many of the characters will appear in Secret Wars, but we already know that Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier is doing the full-on X-Men movie to begin this new phase in earnest.<\/p>\n As such, rumors and confirmations and semi-confirmations are coming out rapid-fire now. (Photo by Aurore Marechal\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n Getty Images<\/p>\n Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister, rumored<\/strong> \u2013 Kevin Feige has said outright that Marvel has been relentlessly pursuing Star Wars veteran Adam Driver over the years, but the actor who played Kylo Ren always turns them down. Reportedly, Driver may end up playing Mr. Sinister, the upcoming villain of the X-Men film, as opposed to Magneto like the older films.<\/p>\n Again, only Sink is confirmed, and the most likely other two are Weaving and Spaeny as Emma Frost and Rogue right now.
