{"id":978404,"date":"2026-08-03T18:42:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T18:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/978404\/"},"modified":"2026-08-03T18:42:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T18:42:17","slug":"amazon-orders-improvised-multi-cam-sitcom-from-marta-kauffman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/978404\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon Orders Improvised Multi-Cam Sitcom From Marta Kauffman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAmazon has greenlit its first-ever multi-cam sitcom, which hails from none other than the legendary <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/marta-kauffman\/\" id=\"auto-tag_marta-kauffman\" data-tag=\"marta-kauffman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marta Kauffman<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTitled \u201cDINKS\u201d \u2014 which stands for \u201cdual income, no kids\u201d \u2014 the show will also be the first-ever improvised multi-cam comedy. <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/paul-scheer\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paul-scheer\" data-tag=\"paul-scheer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paul Scheer<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/june-diane-raphael\/\" id=\"auto-tag_june-diane-raphael\" data-tag=\"june-diane-raphael\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">June Diane Raphael<\/a>, who are married in real life, will star in the show along with series regular Jon Gabrus. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIf the show wasn\u2019t unique enough already given all that, it is being produced in a partnership between Amazon MGM Studios, Lionsgate, and Publicis Media Content Innovation (PMCI), the speciality entertainment division of marketing and comms giant Publicis Groupe\u2019s Publicis Media. PMCI will be fully financing the series in a break from the more traditional TV financing model. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tKauffman co-created the series with Hannah K.S. Canter, who both executive produce under their Okay Goodnight banner. Robbie Rowe Tollin and Jesse Schiller also executive produce, with Raphael and Scheer executive producing in addition to starring. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve always said I wouldn\u2019t do another multi-cam unless someone was able to reinvent it,\u201d Kauffman said. \u201cOkay Goodnight and I got tired of waiting, and decided we should do it ourselves. It\u2019s what I hoped it would be: unique, hilarious and warm. Shooting this show is like being on a roller coaster in the dark. You have no idea where it\u2019s going to go, but you know it\u2019s going to be fun.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe logline for the show states that is about a couple (Scheer and Raphael) \u201cwho, in the absence of a marriage or kids, decide to literally build a life together by renovating their nightmare of a dream house.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cMarta Kauffman is one of the most iconic voices in comedy, and with \u2018DINKS,\u2019 she\u2019s doing what she does best \u2014 finding the humor and heart in everyday relationships \u2014 while pushing the form forward through improvisation,\u201d said Peter Friedlander, head of global television ofr Amazon MGM Studios. \u201cJune and Paul are the perfect pair to bring this concept to life, and together with our partners at Lionsgate and PMCI, we\u2019re excited to deliver a series that feels both fresh and timeless to Prime Video.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPrime Video\u2019s current comedy slate includes shows like \u201cOvercompensating,\u201d \u201cElle,\u201d and the recently-launched action comedy \u201cRide or Die.\u201d The streamer has previously aired hit comedies including \u201cTransparent,\u201d \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,\u201d \u201cUpload,\u201d and \u201cHarlem.\u201d All of those are single-camera series. Prime Video did produce a pilot for a multi-cam from \u201cHow I Met Your Mother\u201d creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, but that project ultimately did not move forward. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cMarta has crafted a fresh, highly original comedy in \u2018DINKS\u2019 that captures her signature voice and leans into the spontaneity and chemistry June and Paul bring to the screen,\u201d said Scott Herbst, EVP &amp; head of scripted development for Lionsgate Television, and Brad Haugen, EVP of digital strategy &amp; growth for Lionsgate. \u201cThe result is a series that feels both distinctive and universally relatable. It has proven to be one of the most influential and enduringly popular shows in TV history, airing 10 seasons on NBC between 1994 and 2004. She also currently stars in \u201cElle\u201d at Amazon, which serves as a prequel to \u201cLegally Blonde.\u201d Her other TV credits include \u201cBig Mouth,\u201d while she has been in films like \u201cWeapons,\u201d \u201cAss Backwards,\u201d and \u201cFreakier Friday.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tScheer also appeared in \u201cGrace and Frankie\u201d in a guest star role.
