(WNYT)- Brown\u2019s Beach off Route 9J on Saratoga Lake remains closed after heavy rain July 29, according to the Town of Stillwater.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/wnyt.com\/top-stories\/two-women-rescued-from-floodwaters-in-coxsackie-share-story\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Two women rescued from floodwaters in Coxsackie share story<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The beach had been scheduled to reopen Monday, August 3, but the town says the beach is still under water. Both the beach and the marina are closed until further notice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The town closed the beach July 30, saying the lake level was high and expected to continue rising after more than six inches of rain fell over a 24-hour period, the Saratoga Lake Protection and Improvement District (SLPID) said in a Facebook post July 29.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSaratoga Lake drains a 244-square-mile watershed, so water will continue flowing into the lake even after the rain stops. Lake levels are expected to continue rising and may peak about three days after rainfall ends. As a general rule, one inch of rain can raise the lake level by at least three inches, depending on conditions,\u201d SLPID said in the post.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boats are being removed from docks that are also under water, the town said, with the rear parking area being used as boat storage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have a lot of maintenance ahead.
