{"id":98016,"date":"2025-07-28T00:20:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T00:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/98016\/"},"modified":"2025-07-28T00:20:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T00:20:13","slug":"russia-starts-moscow-pyongyang-passenger-flights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/98016\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia starts Moscow-Pyongyang passenger flights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MOSCOW (AP) \u2014 Russia on Sunday opened a regular air link between Moscow and Pyogyang, a move reflecting <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/russia-shoigu-sergei-north-korea-ab1061c2e1eab58797996fc8e98c870f\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">increasingly close ties<\/a> between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>The first flight operated by Russian carrier Nordwind took off from Moscow\u2019s Sheremetyevo airport carrying over 400 passengers. Russia\u2019s Transport Ministry said there will be one flight a month to meet demand.<\/p>\n<p>Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who visited North Korea\u2019s new <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/north-korea-tourism-coast-kim-jong-un-c26f24ea0f149b7153ddcf98397c07b5\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wonsan-Kalma beach resort<\/a> earlier this month to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, promised to encourage Russian tourists to visit the complex.<\/p>\n<p>The resort, which can accommodate nearly 20,000 people, is at the center of Kim\u2019s push to boost tourism to improve his country\u2019s troubled economy. <\/p>\n<p>North Korea has been slowly easing the curbs imposed during the pandemic and <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/north-korea-taekwondo-covid19-borders-closed-16c630950219a2adf11d166aaab8e16a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reopening its borders<\/a> in phases.
