Portland is only carry 12 players on fully guaranteed contracts for 2026\/27 and could use some additional depth at forward, but it doesn\u2019t sound as if the team has any real interest in DeRozan at this time.<\/p>\n<p>According to Stein, there\u2019s also no indications that the Trail Blazers would consider a buyout for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/holidjr01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jrue Holiday<\/a><\/strong> or that the veteran guard is interested in one. There has apparently been speculation about a possible Holiday buyout that would get him back to the <strong>Sixers<\/strong>, his original NBA team, but that speculation isn\u2019t credible, per Stein.<\/p>\n<p>Holiday is owed $34.8MM in 2026\/27, with a $37.2MM player option for the \u201927\/28 season. It\u2019s unclear exactly what his role will look like this coming season with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lillada01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Damian Lillard<\/a><\/strong> set to return from his Achilles tear and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/moranja01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ja Morant<\/a><\/strong> now in Portland, but the Blazers \u201chave been messaging for some time\u201d that their preference is to hang onto Holiday rather than trade him, says Stein.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few more highlights from Stein\u2019s latest dispatch of NBA intel:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"longlis\">\n<li>The mini-camp that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/doncilu01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Luka Doncic<\/a><\/strong> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/07\/pacific-notes-doncic-lakers-green-warriors-kings.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reportedly intends<\/a> to host in his native Slovenia for his <strong>Lakers<\/strong> teammates is scheduled for later this month, Stein reports, noting that the star guard has chartered a plane and will bring all but one of his current teammates on the trip. As Stein explains, the Lakers would have had full attendance if not for a scheduling conflict for first-round pick <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/carrca01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cameron Carr<\/a><\/strong>, who has to take part in an official NBA rookie orientation at the same time.<\/li>\n<li>Although many teams around the league view <strong>Mavericks<\/strong> forward <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/washipj01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">P.J. Washington<\/a><\/strong> as a trade candidate, new president of basketball operations <strong>Masai Ujiri<\/strong> is \u201csaid to be a fan\u201d of Washington, Stein writes. No player on Dallas\u2019 roster is currently owed more guaranteed money ($88.8MM) or under contract for longer (four years) than Washington, so it\u2019s not as if the front office needs to make any sort of decision on him anytime soon.<\/li>\n<li>Echoing <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/08\/kings-zach-lavine-facing-uncertain-role-after-exercising-option.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">local<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/08\/western-notes-bogdanovic-lavine-barton-mavericks.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reports<\/a> out of Sacramento, Stein is the latest insider to confirm that a buyout for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lavinza01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-04_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Zach LaVine<\/a><\/strong> isn\u2019t in the works at this time for the <strong>Kings<\/strong>, who are operating as if the veteran guard will start the season with the team. Of course, there\u2019s still no guarantee that LaVine, who is on an expiring $49MM contract, will finish the season in Sacramento.
