{"id":981397,"date":"2026-08-05T02:45:32","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T02:45:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/981397\/"},"modified":"2026-08-05T02:45:32","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T02:45:32","slug":"failure-to-signal-leads-to-arrest-of-suspect-in-deadly-bronx-shooting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/981397\/","title":{"rendered":"Failure to signal leads to arrest of suspect in deadly Bronx shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<img width=\"1200\" height=\"696\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/sagamore-street-google-maps.jpg\" class=\"crop-center wp-post-image\" alt=\"exterior of homes\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"   title=\"Failure to signal leads to arrest of suspect in deadly Bronx shooting 1\"\/>\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Sagamore Street in the Bronx<\/p>\n<p>Google maps<\/p>\n<p>Police arrested a suspected gunman accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/new-york\/bronx\/man-shot-to-death-on-bronx-street\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">shooting a man to death<\/a> from behind on a Bronx street early Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Jose Kuilan, 47, of Morningside Drive in Manhattan, faces a list of charges after police said he allegedly shot and killed 50-year-old Trojan Hart at 672 Sagamore St. in Van Nest at around 6 a.m. on Aug. 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Officers caught Kuilian during a routine traffic stop in the Bronx at around 11:30 p.m. that evening, within the confines of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/nypd\/bureaus\/patrol\/precincts\/49th-precinct.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">49th Precinct<\/a>, the same precinct where the murder took place.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kuilan was charged with murder, manslaughter, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and failure to use a signal light, according to the NYPD.<\/p>\n<p>Police could not say how Kuilan was linked to the homicide, but confirmed he and the victim did not know each other.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>According to police sources, cops from the\u00a049th Precinct rushed to a home located at the scene after a 911 call reported that a man had been shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered a bloodied Hart, with multiple bullet wounds to his buttocks, lower back, and back of his head.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>EMS pronounced Hart dead at the scene.
