Pittsburgh gets more passenger train service; Amtrak to add second NYC train<\/p>\n

Amtrak is adding a second train, taking riders from Pittsburgh to a popular East Coast destination. <\/p>\n

During a streamed public meeting on July 29, Amtrak’s board of directors said a second train will take Pittsburgh riders to New York City and points in between. <\/p>\n

Officials said the new journey is expected to be added later this year. <\/p>\n

Crews have spent the last few years upgrading the tracks and stations along the route \u2014 thanks to a partnership between PennDOT and Norfolk Southern. <\/p>\n

Amtrak recently reported that it saw a record of 34.5 million riders last year. <\/p>\n
