After being out of action for several months, Nick Kyrgios finally made his return to the ATP Tour at the Washington Open. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Prior to Wimbledon, where he is a former finalist, Kyrgios suffered an injury setback<\/a>, which saw him miss the entire grass-court season. <\/p>\n

Having made his recovery, the Australian featured in the doubles event in D.C., where he and partner Gael Monfils<\/a> suffered a first-round exit.<\/p>\n

During his time in Washington, one ATP<\/a> star has caught Kyrgios<\/a>\u2018 attention and looks to be playing the best tennis of his career.<\/p>\n

In a post on his Instagram story<\/a>, Kyrgios shared a clip of a point he played with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. <\/p>\n

He captioned the video: \u201cPoints like this. Low key, in my opinion, very underrated player, incredible talent, Foki v Demon Washington final.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davidovich Fokina is set to play Alex de Minaur<\/a> in the Washington Open final after an impressive campaign in the American capital.<\/p>\n

The Spaniard has earned victories over Learner Tien, first seed Taylor Fritz<\/a>, and Ben Shelton<\/a> en route to the championship match.<\/p>\n

Before this year, Davidovich Fokina had made just one final in his career, which came at the Monte-Carlo Masters in 2022, where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Though he has never won a title in his career, Davidovich Fokina continues to get closer and is in red-hot form heading into his clash with de Minaur.<\/p>\n

He has a head-to-head record of 2-2 with his next opponent, with their last match coming in the Canadian Open semi-final in 2023, which went the way of the world number 13. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
