A customer decided to put KFC<\/a> to the test, and it apparently failed to deliver by what he said was a significant margin of popcorn chicken bites.<\/p>\n

Atticus, a content creator, called out the brand in an Aug. 3 TikTok video<\/a> after he said he learned that his 50-piece popcorn chicken bucket came with 25 nuggets less than promised.<\/p>\n

“I got the 50 popcorn chicken things from KFC, so let’s see if there’s actually 50 in it,” he said in the video. “And if there’s not, we’re gonna have serious… Like, I will go back to the KFC, and I will let it be known that I don’t… I don’t get scammed, and I don’t like being scammed.”<\/p>\n

Atticus showed off the rest of his KFC haul shortly before he began to count out his order, telling viewers that he ordered a three-piece chicken tender combo, a Famous Bowl, an order of fries, three soft drinks as well as some “extra” popcorn nuggets in case his order didn’t come with the full 50.<\/p>\n

The content creator told his viewers, at various points during the count, that he could already tell there weren’t 50 popcorn chicken bites in his order. Atticus’ suspicion was spot on, as he said his order only came with 35 nuggets.<\/p>\n

“KFC. And that’s why I bought extra, because I don’t trust you guys. I don’t trust anybody because this is what people do: they scam. So, if you were going to KFC and you were depending on 50, don’t depend on it. Because you can’t trust them,” he said. “You think it’s funny, KFC? You think you did something. I don’t think it’s funny to scam your customers.”<\/p>\n

KFC weighed in on the popcorn chicken bucket debacle in the comments of Atticus’s post a day later, writing, “35 is definitelyyyy not 50. Thank you for flagging this, and we sincerely apologize on our end. Could you send us a DM so we can make this up to you ASAP?”<\/p>\n

USA TODAY contacted Atticus and KFC for comment on Aug. 5 but did not receive an immediate response.<\/p>\n

Customer won’t forgive, nor forget<\/p>\n

The content creator posted a handful of videos since the original video and also said he went back to the KFC<\/a> where he placed his order, as people in the comments suggested, but was scared to go inside, saying he feared that he’d be “made fun of” and “treated like trash.”<\/p>\n

Atticus has, in an attempt to get KFC’s attention and an apology, in the wake of the debacle. He, in one of the videos, says he “can’t sleep”<\/a> after what happened.<\/p>\n

KFC, for their part, has commented under a couple of Atticus’s videos.<\/p>\n

Atticus addressed KFC’s original response in an Aug. 4 video: “Thank you for apologizing, but I don’t forgive you. If you really wanted to make it right, you would have DM’d me. You wouldn’t ask me to DM you.”<\/p>\n

It’s unclear whether KFC and the content creator have resolved the issue.<\/p>\n
