NBA veteran<\/a> Marcus Morris Sr. was arrested Sunday in Broward County<\/a>, Florida, on a felony fraud charge, according to online booking records. The former New York Knicks<\/a> forward was reportedly taken into custody at an airport.<\/p>\n

According to the New York Post, the charge, identified as Fraud – writing a check with insufficient funds, stems from a case in another state. Records indicate that Morris is being held without bond as authorities process the out-of-state matter.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the incident, Morris vented out his frustration on social media terming it as ‘crazy’.
“The wording is crazy. Damn for that amount of money they\u2019ll embarrass you in the airport with your family,” he wrote on X. “They got y\u2019all really thinking bro did some fraud s-t. They could have came to the crib for all that. When y\u2019all hear the real story on this s-t man. All I can say is Lesson learned. Bro will tell y\u2019all tomorrow. This weird s-t gave me a headache. Can\u2019t stop nothin!”<\/p>\n

\"ETLive EventsThis is not Morris\u2019s first brush with the law. In 2012, he entered a diversion program following a battery charge, and in 2015, he was found not guilty of assault in connection with a basketball-related brawl.
On the court, Morris has had a lengthy NBA career spanning 13 seasons from 2011 to 2024. He has played for multiple teams, including the Rockets, Suns, Pistons, Celtics, Knicks, Clippers, 76ers, and Cavaliers.
One of his most notable stints came with the New York Knicks during the 2019-20 season, where he averaged 19.6 points and 5.4 rebounds over 43 games. He was traded to the Clippers at the deadline in a deal that brought Moe Harkless to New York.
Most recently, Morris split time between the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> and Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> during the 2023-24 season. He also briefly returned to the Knicks last year, signing a training camp deal on September 15, but was released less than two weeks later.
