\nBRANDT NAMED GLENDALE CHIEF OF POLICE <\/p>\n
Glendale
\nCity Manager Kevin Phelps announced Colby Brandt as Chief of Police for the
\nGlendale Police Department following a four-month period serving as Interim
\nPolice Chief. Chief Brandt is a 28-year veteran of the department, most
\nrecently serving as Assistant Chief and has held leadership positions across
\nevery division of the organization.<\/p>\n
“In
\nGlendale, we have been fortunate to have been able to promote exceptional
\nleaders into the position of Police Chief who have served at all ranks within
\nthe department and reflect the values that make us special,\u201d said Phelps.
\n“Colby Brandt embodies this tradition of homegrown leadership. He not only
\nbrings a wealth of experience, but he also understands our community and cares
\nabout it deeply.\u201d <\/p>\n
Chief
\nBrandt, a second-generation law enforcement officer, joined the Glendale Police
\nDepartment in 1997. He is deeply committed to officer development, building
\nregional partnerships and advancing public safety. His current priorities
\ninclude strengthening traffic safety through enhanced speed enforcement tools
\nand ensuring Glendale remains a safe and welcoming place for residents and
\nvisitors. <\/p>\n
“I\u2019m
\nhonored to lead the exceptional men and women of the Glendale Police Department
\nand serve the community where I was born and raised,\u201d said Chief Brandt. “I\u2019ve
\nhad incredible mentors throughout my career who have prepared me to lead us
\ninto the future, and I\u2019m grateful for the continued support of my wife and
\nfamily, our elected officials, city management and community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Chief
\nBrandt previously served as the Administrative Services Commander, overseeing
\ntraining, personnel, budget, grants, audits, and research functions. His prior
\nroles include Patrol Officer, Property Crimes Detective, Auto Theft Detective,
\nPatrol Sergeant, Neighborhood Response Squad Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant,
\nGeneral Investigations Lieutenant, and Gateway Patrol Commander. <\/p>\n
He
\nholds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from Ottawa University
\nand a Master of Science degree in Homeland Security from Pennsylvania Western
\nUniversity. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the DEA Drug Unit
\nCommanders Academy, and the Arizona POST Leadership Program. <\/p>\n
He
\nhas been married for 30 years and has two children, including one currently
