BEXAR COUNTY, Texas<\/strong> \u2013 A father is mourning the deaths of his two sons after they were shot Tuesday evening outside their west Bexar County home.<\/p>\n

The shooting<\/a> happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 9800 block of Acadian Drive, near Kriewald Road. <\/p>\n

Drayven Quiroz, 20, was inside a vehicle trying to park in their driveway. His father, Andrew Perales, said he had asked Quiroz to re-park the car in the driveway, and he believes Quiroz\u2019s younger brother, Maliki Perales, 11, followed his brother outside.<\/p>\n

Andrew Perales said one of his sons called their mother, concerned about a man looking at them \u201cmessed up\u201d from across the street.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear pops, my wife starts screaming. I got my gun, came down,\u201d Andrew Perales said.<\/p>\n

As Andrew Perales walked outside, he said his sons had already been shot. <\/p>\n

Daniel Antonio Perez<\/a>, 40, crossed the street from his home and shot the brothers, according to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, in an apparently unprovoked attack.<\/p>\n

Andrew Perales said he had to carry his youngest son to get him to the ambulance. <\/p>\n

Maliki Perales died later that evening, just before 8:50 p.m., according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office. He died from a gunshot wound to the head and torso, the medical examiner\u2019s office said, and his death was ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n

Quiroz died roughly 12 hours later. His cause and manner of death are still pending.<\/p>\n

According to the sheriff, investigators learned Perez also \u201cshot at two other siblings of this family that were at or near the front door of the residence.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThankfully, (Perez) missed them,\u201d Salazar said.<\/p>\n

Perez was taken into custody and faces multiple capital murder and aggravated assault charges, records show.<\/p>\n

Andrew Perales said he scrubbed through home security video of the shooting without sound to show reporters but declined to share a copy.<\/p>\n

The video shows a man coming from across the street to the driver side window of a car in the driveway and appearing to shoot into it. He then heads toward the front door of the home where Andrew Perales said he found his younger son. <\/p>\n

The man then goes away from the house before circling back to the vehicle in the driveway, appearing to aim the gun toward the house at least once as he does. After appearing to fire again into the driver\u2019s side of the car, the shooter leaves.<\/p>\n

Two women can be seen running toward the shooter from the other side of the street in an apparent attempt to stop him. Andrew Perales can also be seen coming out to the driveway.<\/p>\n

\u2018I love my boys\u2019<\/p>\n

Quiroz was just a normal kid trying to get his life together, his father said. He was recovering from multiple surgeries stemming from a recent diabetic ketoacidosis and pancreatitis diagnosis.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe almost lost him in January,\u201d Andrew Perales said.<\/p>\n

During his recovery process, Quiroz still attempted to help his father with handyman work alongside his brother.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor those who knew who my boys, knew exactly who they were,\u201d Andrew Perales said. \u201cThey know their capabilities, where their heart was, generosity, their work ethics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maliki Perales will be remembered as a hugger, his father said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was known for it,\u201d Andrew Perales said. \u201cHe was a soldier. A strong, loving, caring, beautiful heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrew Perales described his children as beasts with good morals rooted in helping each other and those in need.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so proud of them,\u201d Andrew Perales said, wiping tears from his eyes. \u201cI love them. I love my boys.\u201d<\/p>\n
