And as soon as this situation ends with Iran, oil is going to go down to the floor,&#8221; Trump said on Wednesday. &#8220;Gasoline&#8217;s going to go down. And we will have completed something in a short period of time that is a miracle. This compares to a net approval of negative 21 in the same pollsters\u2019 early January survey, and mirrors results in surveys from Fox News, CNN\/SSRS and AP-NORC, among others, in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Are Costs \u2018Way Down\u2019?<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-module-scss-module__0ovlkG__blockParagraph\" blockindex=\"15\" articletitle=\"Trump Says Costs Are \u2018Way Down\u2019 For Americans\u2014What The Data Shows\">According to the latest inflation report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/inflation-cools-sharply-as-gas-prices-plunge-12193359\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">consumer prices declined 0.4 percent month-over-month in June<\/a>, but were up 3.5 percent over the previous year. This marks a slowdown from an annual headline rate of 4.2 percent in May\u2014the fastest pace in three years\u2014driven largely by the impact of Iran war-related supply constraints on global and domestic costs.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-module-scss-module__0ovlkG__blockParagraph\" blockindex=\"17\" articletitle=\"Trump Says Costs Are \u2018Way Down\u2019 For Americans\u2014What The Data Shows\">June\u2019s monthly decline was thanks to a sharp drop in energy costs, which a breakdown in negotiations between the U.S. and Iran and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/map-shows-gas-price-each-state-average-passes-4-12217025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">another spike in gas prices<\/a> seems poised to partially erase in the next report.
