We believe P&amp;G is the right partner to help us expand our impact while staying true to the values and standards that have always defined Thorne,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Paul Gama, CEO of P&amp;G Health Care, described the transaction as \u201can important step for P&amp;G\u2019s Personal Health Care business,\u201d adding that \u201cconsumer interest in self-care, prevention, wellness and personalized health continues to grow, and Thorne strengthens our position in premium wellness with a trusted, science-backed brand that complements our existing portfolio,\u201d according to the press release.<\/p>\n<p>From private equity to P&amp;G<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">The agreement comes less than three years after consumer-focused investment firm L Catterton completed its acquisition of Thorne for $680 million and took the company private.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Announcing that transaction in October 2023, Marc Magliacano, co-Managing Partner of the Flagship Fund at L Catterton, said: \u201cAs consumer investors, we closely follow enduring secular trends, including the consumer\u2019s increasing prioritization of health and wellness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Magliacano added that the firm looked forward to \u201cexecuting on Thorne\u2019s vision of delivering clinically backed outcomes utilizing specialized health tests and personalized supplement and wellness programs to patients around the globe,\u201d according to L Catterton\u2019s press release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">The acquisition by P&amp;G follows a period of significant growth for Thorne under L Catterton\u2019s ownership. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/04\/02\/thorne-reaches-500m-in-revenue-after-l-catterton-take-private.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/04\/02\/thorne-reaches-500m-in-revenue-after-l-catterton-take-private.html\">According to CNBC<\/a>, the company surpassed $500 million in annual revenue in 2025 and is \u201con pace to reach $650 million in annual revenue this year.\u201d CNBC also reported that Thorne has sustained a compound annual growth rate of more than 30% since being taken private in 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Speaking to CNBC, Watts said: \u201cOur expectation is this is going to be a billion-dollar brand over the next few years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Riding the wellness wave<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Thorne\u2019s growth has mirrored broader shifts in the dietary supplement market, with younger consumers placing greater emphasis on performance, personalization and proactive health.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">According to CNBC, approximately 60% of Thorne\u2019s total revenue now comes from consumers under the age of 40.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Discussing the changing consumer landscape with CNBC, Watts said: \u201cWhen I started looking and working in this market 25 years ago, this was a boomer-driven market; you basically focused on servicing the boomers, that\u2019s how you won in the market. So the reality is, today\u2019s market is a Gen Z, millennial market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">He added: \u201cOne of the big Gen Z millennial trends is, they don\u2019t think about supplementation as prevention. They think about it as performance. It\u2019s like, \u2018I want to sleep better. I want to have more energy. I want to deal with my anxiety. I want to work out better.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">During NutraIngredients+\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nutraingredients.com\/Article\/2026\/01\/27\/supplement-industry-ceos-talk-truth-trust-and-technology-in-the-proactive-prove-it-era\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nutraingredients.com\/Article\/2026\/01\/27\/supplement-industry-ceos-talk-truth-trust-and-technology-in-the-proactive-prove-it-era\/\">6th Annual Business Leader\u2019s Forum<\/a> in January of this year, Watts highlighted similar trends, noting that \u201cthe growth of active nutrition has been impacted by a generational shift that has its \u2018fingerprints all over\u2019 the category and has Thorne switching its focus from Boomers to Zoomers (Gen Z) and millennials who prioritize proactive health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">He added: \u201cThis performance market is not just sports, and it\u2019s certainly not professional athletes. It\u2019s the everyday consumer.
