And the feeling is pari-mutuel. Over the weekend at Los Alamitos a horse named RomoLand, the heavy favorite at 4-5, neared the starting gate when it became uncooperative and was scratched.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/08\/05\/sports\/can-cbs-use-morals-clause-to-void-tony-romo-contract-after-arrest\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">don\u2019t know how or when CBS plans to punish Romo<\/a> for his alleged OWI in Wisconsin, but I\u2019d suggest that the nitwits who approved his $180 million salary for calling five months of Sunday NFL games \u2014 one per weekend at $18 million per season \u2014 should be those left quaking in their wing tips.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Not that it holds any relevance to irresponsible and too often deadly drunken driving, but I\u2019m among the perceived few who enjoyed Romo\u2019s hoarse-throated analysis on CBS\u2019s telecasts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And even at a sensible salary, say a paltry 15 grand per game \u2014 good work if you can get it! \u2014 I don\u2019t think he\u2019d have provided better or worse.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Rough stretch for Tony Romo.
