When they arrived, officers\u00a0found suspect\u00a0Isodoro Melo-Munoz, 37, on top of a woman, holding her at knife point. He stabbed the woman before fleeing the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a news conference, Assistant Chief of Police Terrence Rhodes said police ordered Melo-Munoz to drop the knife, and when he refused,\u00a0officers shot at him. Melo-Munez then fled the scene; it was unclear if he was injured.<\/p>\n<p>As of 10:45 a.m., police are still searching for Melo-Munoz. DPD is asking the public to immediately call 911 if they see the suspect, describing him as a Hispanic male who is about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 140 pounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The woman who was stabbed was immediately taken to a hospital, but her condition is now stable.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to a DPD post on X, no officers were injured in the shooting. The post did not specify whether Melo-Munoz was shot or injured.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t Melo-Munoz&#8217;s first run-in with the law.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dallas County court records,\u00a0Melo-Munoz was charged for driving while intoxicated in 2021. He served three days in jail after he was convicted in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>While court records state Melo-Munoz was born in Mexico, he also has a Dallas address less than a mile from the scene of the stabbing.<\/p>\n<p>There have been three officer-involved shootings in northern Dallas this week \u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/crime\/article\/1-wounded-officer-involved-shooting-dallas-22377381.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> two on Thursday morning<\/a>, in addition to this Friday morning incident.<\/p>\n<p>The first shooting took place around 9:20 a.m. on Thursday morning, where an officer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/crime\/article\/police-responding-officer-involved-shooting-22377315.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fired his gun<\/a> at an armed robbery suspect in\u00a0Melshire Estates.\u00a0DPD officials said the officer fired at a suspect after a 20-mile pursuit, where the suspect drove a stolen vehicle from Oak Cliff to northwest Dallas. No one was injured in the incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ninety minutes later, police responded to a second incident when gunfire erupted at a Sam&#8217;s Club less than three miles away. A suspect, who has not been identified by DPD, shot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/public-safety\/article\/justin-jones-dallas-school-officer-shot-22377682.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas Independent School District officer Justin Jones<\/a>, 39, in the torso. According to DPD Chief Daniel Comeaux, Jones drove the man to the parking lot after he was spotted walking on the highway.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The suspect has since been taken into custody. Jones was rushed to Parkland hospital for emergency surgery.
