A new selfie featuring actor John Goodman<\/a>, 74, prompted fans to declare the beloved star \u201cunrecognizable.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Wizards of Waverly Place actor David DeLuise, 54, posted a casual grocery store snap on Instagram<\/a>. In the photo, he grinned widely at the camera, standing next to Goodman.<\/p>\n

The Roseanne and Righteous Gemstones star, who does not have social media accounts of his own, also gave a big smile to the camera.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was my childhood!! \u2764\ufe0f\u201d DeLuise wrote in the caption. \u201cLegend! I love that I get to say that to someone \ud83d\ude09 if you know you know.\u201d<\/p>\n

In just 20 hours, the post became one of DeLuise\u2019s most popular, with over 30,000 likes. <\/p>\n

In 2010, Goodman told David Letterman<\/a> that at his heaviest, he was \u201cpushing 400 pounds,\u201d and shared that even after successful weight loss efforts, he struggled to keep the weight off.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d lose 60 pounds every spring, and then I got too fond of the barley corn, and I\u2019d just start missing it too much, and then it would just screw everything up. I\u2019d gain it all back and then some every year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Goodman gained back weight before 2014, but The New York Post<\/a> reported in 2015 that he had undergone another incredible 100-pound weight loss.<\/p>\n

His trainer, Mackie Shilstone, said that the transformation was achieved through exercising six times a week and taking over 10,000 steps daily.<\/p>\n

Goodman also followed a \u201cMediterranean-style eating plan\u201d that focuses on fruits and vegetables and limits red meat.<\/p>\n

After years of struggling with alcoholism, Goodman also cut alcohol from his diet<\/a> 19 years ago.<\/p>\n

In 2016, he talked about the motivation behind his weight loss journey with ABC News<\/a>: \u201cI just got tired, sick and tired of looking at myself. You\u2019re shaving in the mirror, and you don\u2019t want to look at yourself. It gets dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n
