Southern Californians seeking to cool down by the coast should avoid going into the water at several Los Angeles County beaches, public health officials warned Friday.<\/p>\n
The LA County Department of Public Health said it’s issued ocean water warnings due to heightened bacteria levels. <\/p>\n
Recent water samples from the following beaches had bacteria levels exceeding state health standards, which may increase the risk of illness.
\u00a0\u00a0 — Ramirez Creek at Paradise Cove, 100 yards up and down the coast from Paradise Cove Pier
\u00a0\u00a0 — Solstice Creek at Dan Blocker County Beach, entire swim area
\u00a0\u00a0 — East Wilshire Boulevard storm drain at Santa Monica Beach, 100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain
\u00a0\u00a0 — Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro, entire swim area
\u00a0\u00a0 — Santa Monica Pier, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, warnings were lifted for the Castlerock storm drain at Topanga County Beach after recent testing found bacteria levels had returned to within state health standards. <\/p>\n
