In the other semifinal match, reigning Junior 10-12 division champion Jackson Bergstrom defeated Alexandria\u2019s Garrison Johnson 1-up in pursuit of a second consecutive title.<\/p>\n<p>Bergstrom and Langley will compete for the Junior 13-15 championship at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Alexandria Golf Club.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what happened in the penultimate round of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><b>Jackson Bergstrom def. Garrison Johnson, 1 up<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A pair of former Junior 10-12 division champions met in the semifinals, with Bergstrom keeping Johnson, the 2023 Junior 10-12 division champion, at bay throughout their match after reestablishing a 1-up lead with par at the par-4 No. 5 hole following Johnson tying the match with par at the par-4 No. 4.<\/p>\n<p>Taking a 3-up lead after winning the par-4 No. 10 hole, Bergstrom responded to Johnson winning the par-3 No. 11 by winning the par-5 No. 12 with a par after his opponent ran into trouble, holding serve the rest of the way at Johnson cut the deficit down to a single hole. The Cardinal boys golfer won with birdies at the par-3 No. 13 and No. 17, but Bergstrom tied him to win the match with par at the finishing par-4 No. 18.<\/p>\n<p>Bergstrom, a Sartell product, has fared well transitioning into an 18-hole division, beginning his run to the final with a 2-up victory over No. 13-seed Jaxn Hacker. Odin Sherlin, 19 holes<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As the No. 15-seed in this year\u2019s tournament, Langley has proven to be a formidable opponent in a deep field, outlasting Sherlin, the No. 11-seed, following several rallies to tie the match.<\/p>\n<p>Birdies at the par-5 No. 6 and par-3 No. 7 holes along with a par at the par-4 No. 8 helped Sherlin build a 3-up lead, only for Langley to get one back with par at the par-4 No. 9.
