{"id":988349,"date":"2026-08-08T05:56:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T05:56:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/988349\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T05:56:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T05:56:14","slug":"teen-turns-himself-in-weeks-after-fatal-shooting-of-16-year-old-in-durham-park-neighborhood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/988349\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen turns himself in weeks after fatal shooting of 16-year old in Durham Park neighborhood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\"><strong>HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 A teen suspect has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Jadiel Rodriguez, Houston Police announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Rodriguez was shot and killed on May 7 in the 8700 block of Blackhawk Ridge Lane at approximately 3:55 p.m. A second male was also wounded in the incident and was transported to an area hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">According to Houston Police, the 16-year-old juvenile suspect turned himself in on August 5. He has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation Authorities on a charge of aggravated robbery. Per policy, the name and photo of the juvenile suspect are not being released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Nielsen and Detective A. Herrera led the investigation. Officers who responded to the original shooting call found Rodriguez with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Further investigation identified the second shooting victim as a suspect in the incident. He was subsequently charged for his role in the case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Investigators say a person of interest, known only as \u201cJunior,\u201d was identified and a photo was released on May 22.
