{"id":988447,"date":"2026-08-08T07:03:49","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T07:03:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/988447\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T07:03:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T07:03:49","slug":"north-texas-reported-29-road-rage-crashes-in-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/988447\/","title":{"rendered":"North Texas reported 29 road rage crashes in July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/transportation\/article\/dallas-tarrant-counties-see-high-road-rage-22353963.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Road rage incidents<\/a> in North Texas made up more than a quarter of the state\u2019s total crashes in July.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tarrant and Dallas counties accounted for more than half of North Texas&#8217; road rage crashes last month, according to data from the Texas Department of Transportation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 16-county region \u2014 Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant and Wise \u2014 reported 29 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/transportation\/article\/dallas-tarrant-counties-see-high-road-rage-22353963.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">road rage <\/a>related collisions total for July. In Texas, 107 road rage crashes were reported.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>North Texas\u2019 four largest and most populous counties \u2014 Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant \u2014 reported the most road rage incidents. Tarrant County recorded nine road rage incidents in July, the most in the region, followed by Dallas County with seven. Collin and Denton counties both reported three.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>No fatal crashes involving road rage occurred in North Texas; however, one suspected serious injury was reported in Tarrant County.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegardless of how these incidents are categorized, aggressive driving is something we take seriously,\u201d said Robert Hoy, Tarrant County Sheriff\u2019s Department\u2019s public information officer. \u201cAgencies across Tarrant County focus on visibility and targeted enforcement of reckless driving behaviors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Road rage can be listed as a contributing factor by the responding law enforcement agency but is not a formal legal category, and there is no standardized reporting for these incidents, Hoy said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor example, one officer may label an incident as road rage while another may label it with behavior already covered under other contributing factors,\u201d Hoy said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As a result, numbers can vary depending on the agencies and responding officer\u2019s classification of the incidents.<\/p>\n<p>According to TxDOT data, five counties \u2014 Johnson, Kaufman, Palo Pinto, Parker and Somervell \u2014 reported no road rage incidents.
