Breaking down their 400 percent salary increase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders received a 400 percent salary increase from the NFL after fighting tooth and nail for a livable wage.<\/p>\n<p>Their battle, which has been documented on the second season of their Netflix series, \u201cAmerica\u2019s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,\u201d will go into effect in the upcoming 2025 NFL season.<\/p>\n<p>Jada McLean, a five-year professional, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/06\/18\/style\/dallas-cowboys-cheerleaders-salary-americas-sweethearts.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told the New York Times<\/a> on Monday that longtime team members can now be paid up to $75 per hour.<\/p>\n<p>McLean explained that she used to earn $15 hourly and $500 per appearance in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders received a 400 percent salary increase from the NFL after fighting for a livable wage. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The veteran cheerleader, however, claimed she and her teammates still don\u2019t receive health benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Before the boost, McLean told the outlet that she and several other cheerleaders struggled to sign their 2024-25 contracts since many of them still had to work outside jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, we should still do something outside of just cheering,\u201d she said. \u201cBut there\u2019s so many ways to make this something people can actually live off of. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause for us all to be struggling financially, I\u2019m kind of over it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The pay raise surpasses the $15 per hour and $500 per appearance that the five-year cheerleader allegedly received last year. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>At one point, McLean and a few of her dance mates considered striking to send a bigger message to management about their demand for more money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe pushed and we got back good results,\u201d Armani Latimer shared on Season 2 of the Netflix show, which was released on June 18.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI get emotional knowing that I was a part of that.
