The Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department agreed to revisit its proposed improvements for Titus Paulsel Park<\/a> after neighborhood residents said the conceptual design did not reflect the community\u2019s priorities.<\/p>\n

At a July 20 public meeting, residents who live in the Poly area around the park said they believed the proposed perimeter walking trail would see little use and other improvements should take priority.<\/p>\n

Parks staff introduced a conceptual site plan prepared by the project’s landscape architect using about $200,000 in funds approved by voters in the city\u2019s 2022 bond election.<\/p>\n

The preliminary design centered on a walking trail that would loop around the park, along with a limited number of supporting amenities. But residents said the money should go to repairing and improving the park\u2019s existing amenities.<\/p>\n

They suggested removing an unused baseball backstop and deteriorated volleyball posts, replacing or repairing rusted picnic tables and park furnishings, repainting aging structures, and installing shade canopies over the playground.<\/p>\n

The city staff said the parks department would revise the design proposal based on the feedback and organize a follow-up meeting with city representatives and residents.<\/p>\n
