{"id":989612,"date":"2026-08-08T20:07:23","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T20:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/989612\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T20:07:23","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T20:07:23","slug":"fatal-crash-involving-school-bus-under-investigation-in-central-illinois","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/989612\/","title":{"rendered":"Fatal crash involving school bus under investigation in central Illinois"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fatal crash involving a school bus is under investigation near Gibson City, located in central Illinois.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Illinois State Police troopers responded to the crash on Route 9 at 1000 East Road.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Investigators said a car failed to yield and enter Rout 9 in front of a school bus, causing the bus to hit the car just before 8:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Police said a person inside the car was pronounced dead at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Three other people inside the car were injured.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>ISP said 20 Hoopeston School District students were on the bus at the time of the crash.
